HAND TENDED, ECO-FRIENDLY
We make just two wines most years, and maybe mature a little in our single barrique.
We planted our vines in 1986 (with spades!) on a gentle SE slope of red soil between the Quantock Hills and the Bristol Channel: a warm, favoured, secluded site that reliably gives us good quality grapes. We harvest by hand with family, friends and volunteers. Usually we make just two dry, white varietal wines each year and mature one barrique’s worth in oak, giving a special, limited-edition oaked wine in addition.
Our wines are sought-after, consistently winning international and national awards.
After 30 years of low-intervention, eco-friendly husbandry, Oatley is full of wildlife: the countryside as it used to be. We take sustainability seriously.

VINTAGE 2017 REPORT
We are OPEN 11am - 5.30pm Fridays, Saturdays and all over Bank Hol weekends (except, sorry, 25th and 26th Aug). Other times open by appointment
Our 2014 Leonora's and 2016 Barrel Matured won Bronze in the Independent English Wine Awards in April, and in May we were delighted to win two International Bronzes in the world's most authoritative wine competition, the International Wine Challenge, for our two 2016 wines.
Our earliest ever. A quality vintage of moderate volume. We expect to produce two varietals and a barrel matured blend. Our January blogpost reviews the vintage, here>>
