Kernling Harvest 14 October 2018

Our biggest ever Kernling crop in 29 years. Fantastic quality.

After the amazing long summer ended with Storm Callum two days earlier, harvest day was disappointingly drizzly and cool - 12C. But a cheerful band of pickers, loaders and kitchen crew made it a great day despite the weather.

We ate inside in the warm and for the first time daughter Liz cooked, with help from friends Jules and Sian.  Lovely harvest meal.

We took the grapes to Steve's winery near Shepton Mallet next morning where the free-run juice was a delicious 80 Oe 12 g/l acid (TA).

Thanks to all. Photos by Ned, Paula and Jane
