Why we value your privacy

We're uncomfortable with the amount of information that companies, governments, and other organisations keep on file, so we ask for only the bare minimum from our customers. We'll never use your personal information for any reason other than what you gave it for, and we'll never give anyone access to it unless we're forced to by law.

How we collect information

Online purchases are processed by PayPal, our e-commerce platform and we never have access to your credit card or bank information. Your payment details are encrypted and kept secure by PayPal.

When you buy from us, Paypal emails us with contact information including your order, your name and email address, and delivery address, so that we can acknowledge your order and send your goods, and we record that information in our local sales records. Similarly, if you buy from us by email, messaging or telephone we keep a record of your purchase, email address, telephone number and address/delivery addresses.

Our website doesn't use cookies or scripts that track the websites you visit. We do use Google Analytics to improve our website and to understand which pages people like and don't like. Google Analytics doesn't give us information about who you are or which pages you visit.

Mailchimp collects and stores your email address when you sign up for our newsletters. This information is stored on the Mailchimp servers and is visible to us.

We use a Google Map embedded on our website to provide directions to the vineyard. Google may use details of your location in providing you with directions to us, and may use cookies, but this is not visible to us.

What information we hold

When you buy from us, we collect in our local records:  your purchase, your name, email address, phone number, home address and delivery address if different.

When you contact us by email or social media, the email records or messaging records on our local computers and mobile devices hold your name, email address, phone number if you have given it, social media username if you have used one, and the company you work for, if you've given us that.

If you sign up for our newsletters, your name and email address, although held by Mailchimp, are visible to us in our Mailchimp account.

If you do business with us, we hold your business name and bank account details and keep records of the invoices we send you and the payments you make and the invoices you send us and the payments we make.

Where we store your information

When you buy something from us online, your information is stored in our Paypal account. If you sign up for our newsletter, your email address is kept by Mailchimp. We chose these systems partly for their commitment to security. Any direct banking transactions with you are stored by our bank, HSBC. When you contact us by email we hold your contact information in Gmail, and AppleMail, our local computer email software. Similarly our social media messaging services include Facebook Messenger, Twitter Direct Messaging and Instagram Messages and these applications store records of messages on our local computers and mobile devices.

Our sales records and accounts are kept on our office computers and backed up in a private DropBox account.

What we use your information for

When you buy from us we use your contact details and delivery address to communicate about your order and deliver it. We may use your information to send you invoices, statements, reminders or refunds. We record your order history to improve our communications with you when you order again, and we use anonymised summaries of order/purchase histories to understand our business performance.

If you have signed up for our newsletters we occasionally use your contact information to send you news of the vineyard and wines and details of our products and services. When we do, you have the option to unsubscribe from these communications and then we won't send them to you again.
