Wine matured in our two Seguin Moreau "Fraicheur" oak barriques. This barrel was specially developed to enhance light, white varietal wines by Seguin Moreau of Cognac, respected French coopers. The oak is fine-grained and extremely lightly toasted and the barrel has acacia heads, adding brighter notes to the oak.
Our 2018 Madeleine Anvevine has been maturing in the older barrel since March 2019. It s the 4th wine from this barrel and on tasting in Feb 2020 we decided the wine needed more intensity from the oak and acacia, so left it to mature for another 6 months.

Our 2nd, brand new, Fraîcheur barrique was filled with 2019 Madeleine Angevine in January 2020. We decide to blend the two when we tasted them before bottling in August.
Only 575 bottles made, each hand numbered. No capsule over the natural cork closure.
